Our family...minus little Tony because he was working, had a wonderful time at an annual event that the zoo and the local hospitals put on for chronically ill/medically fragile kids and their families...DreamNight at the Zoo.
For the past few years, we've been invited to attend this event which gives sick kids and their families a chance to unwind, relax and enjoy an evening to watch our kids smile.
We were up close and personal with the animals...
This was Kennys all time favorite thing at the zoo... next to the train ride...
Kenny on the train...loving life...
We all got to feed the birds...
the kids got their faces painted...
Kayleigh got a koala...which looked more like a poodle...
Sydnie got a koala as well...only...this one looked like a rock with a face...
and Kenny and Gina chose to trade gender related rolls...Gina chose spiderman and Kenny opted for a butterfly...mmm...ok...my kids are confident in who they are and what they like. Who am I to tell them otherwise. ;)
more of the merry-go-round....
and Tony and I watching and enjoying the kids smiles (not to mention...going aroud and around on that carousel made me slightly dizzy and nauseated).
and finally...Kenny was in awe of these characters walking around...totally fascinated by them...
(notice my kids stashes of cotton candy...yes...that was free too...can you say sugar overload?)
and what would the night be without the great big mouse himself...Mickey!
A special thank you to MetroHealth Medical Center for caring for Kenny and inviting us to these special events that make having a medically fragile/special needs child just a little bit easier on all of us.
